One Direction Show Shut Down In Dubai — Injury Reports Clear

When One Direction plays a show, no one wants to hear that there was a mishap that involved anyone — including the audience. Unfortunately, when One Direction got on stage for their Dubai show on April 4, the show was stopped temporarily due to a security breakdown that was a borderline disaster.

As previously reported by this author for the Inquisitr, One Direction fans have been anticipating this show in Dubai for months. Despite several local publications giving tips for having the best experience at the Dubai One Direction show, there was still an event looming that no one was expecting.

The National U.A.E. reported on the disaster at the One Direction concert and stated that Liam Payne got on stage in Dubai and said, “We are One Direction and we’re not [going anywhere].” One Direction played several songs, and when they started playing “Little Things,” the barricade between the band and fans broke down.

Ahlan Live reported on the event and stated, “The One Direction concert, which was staged at the Sevens Stadium on Saturday evening, had to be temporarily stopped after a barrier collapsed under the sheer weight of fans clambering forward to get close to their idols, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.”

On the scene, audience members told Ahlan Live about the incident.

“We could see something was up because all of the boys kept looking backstage as if they wanted help. Only Harry carried on singing, but he was clearly thrown by something as if he’d been told in his earpiece to leave the stage or something. Then after they finished the song they all went off and some guy announced that a barrier had broken and fans were getting squashed.”

After about 30 minutes, the situation was resolved and the One Direction concert resumed. Sadly, fans pointed out that “by then the atmosphere had changed it wasn’t the same.”

The One Direction show resumed with “Night Changes” and at the end of the show, Liam Payne told the Dubai audience, “I’ll give it to you Dubai – you’re the best audience we’ve had all tour.”

Were there any injuries to One Direction or fans in the audience? UnReality TV states that Thomas Oversen, COO of Done Events issued a statement saying, “The issue was rectified with no injuries reported… ”

The next show for One Direction will be June 5 in Cardiff. For now, One Direction members like Liam Payne are hinting that they will spend time over April and May recording their fifth album.
