Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Dicatator’ Character Responds to Oscar Ban [Video]

Sacha Baron Cohen isn’t being banned from the Oscars this year, but the Academy would appreciate it if he didn’t walk the red carpet dressed as his character from “The Dictator.” But Admiral General Aladeen (Cohen’s character) isn’t too happy about the Oscar ban.

General Aladeen released a video this morning blasting the Academy for banning him from the ceremony.

“On behalf of the nation of Wadiya, I am outraged at being banned from the Oscars by the Academy of Motion Pictures of Arts and Zionists. While I applaud the Academy for taking away my right to free speech, I warn you that if you do not lift your sanctions and give me my tickets back by 12 p.m. on Sunday, you will face unimaginable consequences.”

Is this a hollow threat? Or will Sacha Baron Cohen wage comedic war on the 2012 Oscars? Cohen also took issue with the fact that the Academy has not recognized his favorite films. Cohen said:

“Where are the awards for ‘Harry Kidnapped Sally,’ ‘You’ve Got Mailbomb,’ and ‘Planet of the Rapes.'”

Cohen said that the main reason for his anger was that he had already paid Hillary Swank $2 million to be his date for the 2012 Academy Awards, and she refuses to give him a refund.

Are you a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen? Do you hope that General Aladeen makes an appearance at the Oscars?
