Bobbi Kristina Doesn’t Have Addiction Issues – Whitney’s Mom

With Whitney Houston’s funeral now over, it seems the media eye has turned, somewhat voyeuristically, to Bobbi Kristina Brown, the late singer’s daughter.

According to various outlets, Bobbi Kristina’s own grandmother, Cissy Houston, has dismissed claims that Houston’s only child is battling the kind of addiction issues that her own parents, Houston and Bobby Brown, have struggled with.

Such denials fly in the face of recent reports, which suggest the teenager was pushed to enter rehab by her own family. It’s a reasonable question, argue many celebrity commentators: if there is no addiction, why the need for rehab?

Houston spokespeople also had to deny reports that Bobbi Kristina got high immediately after her mother’s funeral, while other sources close to the Houston family say the 17-year-old disappeared for several hours after the service, causing upset to her grandmother and other family members. There is, in other words, conflicting views on all sides.

While we may have to wait a while for solid facts to emerge, there have been whisperings that Bobbi Kristina has been encouraged to release her own music. The teen is said to be a talented musician in her own right – rather easy to believe, considering her excellent genes – and has been egged on by the likes of Dionne Warwick and Alicia Keys to give a music career a shot.

And in other Houston news, a ton of Whitney Houston memorabilia is to be sold at a Hollywood auction, record executives are still mercenary scumbags, and Nancy Grace needs to shut the hell up.
