WWE News: Dean Ambrose To Receive Huge Push?

As he prepares for a huge seven man ladder match for the Intercontinental championship at WrestleMania 31, Dean Ambrose is in line for an even bigger push later this year, according to LordsofPain.

Ambrose, 29, is currently a favorite in the aforementioned ladder match that is set to take place this Sunday. But even if the “Lunatic Fringe” is unsuccessful in capturing the gold, he could be moving on to greener pastures as the year progresses.

The Cincinnati, Ohio, native is currently slated to enjoy a “heavy push,” as the report states. This reported push would be emphasized during the Summer, culminating in a big match to take place at this years SummerSlam event that will emanate from Brooklyn, New York.

As it stands, the “Unstable” former member of The Shield is currently one the WWE’s most popular superstars. He receives tremendous reactions from live audiences from around the world, whether it be on television or live events. Also, Ambrose has been popular in regards to merchandise, as his line of apparel sells tremendously well, and at one point even set records.

The Inquisitr reported several months ago that the former independent wrestling mainstay wasn’t what they were looking for in a top superstar, despite his obvious obvious upside in terms of crowd response and merchandise sales, two aspects that WWE officials see as key components when looking for their next top star.

However, based on the current report, the brass of the company appear to be a lot more open to the idea of featuring Ambrose in a more prominent role. Despite their perceived lack of interest in pushing him, the company has shown a willingness to at least experiment with the idea of furthering Ambrose’s career.

Both he and former Shield partner Seth Rollins famously main evented last year’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, a show that also featured John Cena vs. Randy Orton — a rivalry between the two biggest stars that the WWE created in the past decade.

With the company reportedly looking to elevate both mid-card championships this year, a significant storyline featuring Ambrose as the champion is one possible avenue in which the company could go. Conversely, Ambrose and Rollins never had a conclusive finish to their feud last year — with Rollins still carrying around the Money in the Bank briefcase and the threat of a cash-in present, both men reigniting their feud from last year with a huge match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship at SummerSlam is another possibility.

All told, with the company needing somebody to fill a major void with Brock Lesnar working a part-time schedule and the company always looking for their “next big thing,” Ambrose will get every opportunity to grab that often referenced but never seen “brass ring.”
