Kendall Jenner Named New Face Of Calvin Klein’s Jeans Denim Series Campaign

How does Calvin Klein follow the explosive social media success of Justin Bieber (and the model Lara Stone) in their Spring 2015 #mycalvins campaign? Kendall Jenner will do very nicely thank you.

After all those rumors, Kendall Jenner has been named the face of the fashion giant’s new #mycalvins Denim Series early on Thursday, following the brand’s tease of the reveal on Wednesday evening which cropped the model’s head out.

With a social media following that nearly rivals Justin Bieber’s — his underwear and jeans campaign delivered over 3 million new followers to Calvin Klein’s social media accounts — Jenner’s sizeable online following and model-of-the-moment status makes her a dream choice to star in the new global image campaign which was produced by Calvin Klein.

And, like the Biebs, who posted selfies wearing Calvin Klein on his accounts before his Internet breaking campaign with the brand was revealed in January, Jenner did the same.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the athletic-urban, logo-led, limited edition Jenner line will also feature the male model Simon Nessman. The ads were shot by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Melanie Ward in New York City.

These will mix print, outdoor and digital and roll-outs from May, after debuting at Opening Ceremony. Billboards will go up from early April, first in Los Angeles, then New York and Europe.

“It was super fun,” Jenner, 19, told WWD of the shoot. “It’s really exciting. Honestly, it has been my dream to be able to do something like that.”

She continued, “Calvin Klein’s ad campaigns have always been so memorable,” also citing model veterans Kate Moss and Christy Turlington as way-showers, and revealing she has always wanted to model for the brand.

Kendall — who has had a supernova catwalk season, walking for designers including Vera Wang, Balmain and Chanel — also appears in spring campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld and is the new face of Estée Lauder.

Klein marketing officer, Melisa Goldie, was glowing in her talk-up of Jenner, telling WWD, “Kendall is a modern beauty who brings her youthful spirit and edge to this special Calvin Klein Jeans business.

Goldie added.

“Kendall’s powerful fan base and global reach will further amplify the current cultural conversation surrounding the Calvin Klein Jeans brand and highlight this exciting limited edition.”

After Calvin Klein tweeted first confirmation of Kendall as the new star of their #mycalvins Denim Series, Kendall tweeted her excitement, writing, “Proud to be the face of the new @calvinklein #mycalvins Denim Series!”

The Wednesday teaser.

The comfortable-looking collection of sweatshirts, tees, denim and other leisure wear is reportedly ranged price-wise d from $58-$348. Pieces go on sale at Opening Ceremony from April 15 and on calvinklein.com from May 15.

Jenner looks just as fantastic as Bieber did in his much-talked about Calvin Klein ads. In short: this model’s star is now officially stratospheric.
