WWE News: Dolph Ziggler Frustrated With WWE Management, Says He Wants IC Title At WrestleMania

Dolph Ziggler is one of WWE’s most popular superstars, and that’s one of the reasons why he’s not afraid to express his displeasure with WWE management. An interview with Fox Sports last week was a good example of that, when he said that his position at the Royal Rumble“made him sick.”

This week, Ziggler sat down with FanSided, and talked about his frustration with how WWE management has positioned him, but that he hopes that after all of his A+ performances over the years, WWE management will eventually put him in the spot he feels that he deserves.

“Of course it bothers me, it p***es me off, but it also drives me to be that much better. Listen, everybody’s favorite can’t always be champion, can’t always be on top, can’t be in the main event, and can’t be in the main story of the show. But if you stick around long enough, killing it with an A+ every single night, there’s a chance you can sneak in through the cracks and break that glass and become the guy.

“A couple of different times I’ve been pretty close and just missed out. The reason I’m in the position I am, it’s not just hard work, it is because the fans know that if there is a tiny chance, he can pull it off and he can be our guy. They live by that every single Monday and every single Thursday and that’s what drives me to keep going. I don’t care about the money, I don’t care about the fame, I love doing this job and having the respect of the fans going ‘this one day could be our guy. One little inch and nudge in the right direction and he could be the man.”

On this Sunday’s WrestleMania, Ziggler has a great chance to steal the show, as he’s competing in a seven-man ladder match, with the Intercontinental Championship on-the-line. Originally, Ziggler wanted to have a one-on-one match with fellow fan-favorite Daniel Bryan, but, Bryan is one of the other six competitors in the ladder match with Ziggler.

As of right now, Daniel Bryan is the favorite to win the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, but WWE — especially these days — change their plans on a regular basis, so Ziggler could very well end up with the championship on Sunday, and he really hopes that he will.

“I was a big fan of that white belt, I grew up loving those matches with Mr. Perfect, Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, all those guys. I loved that title, not only did it stand out, it meant that you were the next guy in next in line to be a huge star. This ladder match coming up has a bunch of hungry guys who are all one step away, one nudge in the right direction away from not only bringing prestige back to the title, making it mean what it used to, but also becoming a force in the WWE. Becoming that next top guy. This is going to define somebody’s career at WrestleMania and damnit, I hope it’s mine.”

Most WWE fans are expecting the ladder match between Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, Bad News Barrett, R-Truth, Stardust, Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose to be the highlight of WrestleMania. Also, it’s rumored that Sheamus will make his return at WrestleMania, and be the eighth man added to the Intercontinental Title ladder match.

As for post-WrestleMania plans, WWE wants to have Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan feud over the Intercontinental Championship. It’s not expected that Ziggler or Bryan will turn heel, but if one of them does, it’ll likely be Ziggler.
