Gal Gadot Too Skinny For Wonder Woman? Feisty Super Heroine Fires Back, Inspired By Secret Weapon Beyonce

Is Gal Gadot too skinny to portray Wonder Woman? That’s the feedback that has the actress so annoyed that she’s firing back with all the ammo that a super heroine has, reported the Christian Post.

Gal is set to take on the female force in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She previously starred in Fast & Furious 6, and is calm but concentrated in responding to the skinny-shaming.

“I can understand that part of what I’m doing means being exposed. And part of being exposed is being under fire,” retorted Gadot.

Gadot has a long history of serving as a feisty warrior in real life as well as film. Before she became an actress and supermodel, Gal was a soldier for the Israel Defense Forces.

In addition, the now-29-year-old actress won the 2004 Miss Israel pageant and participated in that year’s Miss Universe contest.

Reflecting on the criticism that she’s received, Gadot also opened up about the personal comments on her Wonder Woman body parts, reported the New Zealand Herald.

“They said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small… They said my head was too big and my body was like a broomstick. I can take anything. It’s just empty talk.”

Defending the actress, director Zack Snyder contends that Gal is ideal for the role.

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role.”

Superhero fans can decide for themselves when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice flies into film theaters on March 25, 2016, followed by Wonder Woman on June 23, 2017.

In auditioning for her role as Wonder Woman, Gadot reveals that she had a secret weapon, reported IGN. Admitting that she was nervous, Gal now is confessing that she turned to Beyonce’s music to get her energy level up and banish the jitters.

“When I got there they put me in a trailer and after all the hair and makeup I had to wait a few hours. Waiting is auditioner’s biggest enemy. I called [my husband] Yaron and told him I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t calm down. He told me ‘Gal, put on Beyonce. Move around. Don’t sit there frozen.’ I put on Diva and started dancing. Just when the song ended, I was all flushed, there was knock on the door calling me in.”

Gadot is proud of the Wonder Woman portrayed in the film.

“She has unbelievable endurance. She is exceptionally strong. She can jump really high and practically fly. She knows tons of martial arts styles. She is a strong and serious woman.”

As for the skinny-shaming that she has endured, Gadot isn’t the only celebrity to feel attacked by claims that she’s too slim. As the Inquisitr reported, TV personality Giuliana Rancic has repeatedly had to endure social media comments that she’s too thin.
