‘Real World’ Star Ryan Knight’s Death Has Been Ruled An Accidental Overdose

Real World star Ryan Knight’s cause of death has officially been confirmed as an accidental overdose. Nearly four months after his tragic and unexpected death, the Real World star’s autopsy is finally complete.

According to a March 18 report by TMZ, the Real World star had a number of drugs in his system at the time of his death, including methadone, which is a heroin substitute, the painkiller tramadol, cocaine and Xanax.

The Real World star was also said to have a “high level” of alcohol in his system.

As the Inquisitr reported in November, Knight, 27, was found unresponsive on Thanksgiving morning after a wild night out with friends. At the time, TMZ revealed the Real World star was discovered by friends, who claimed he had choked on his own vomit.

Months after hearing of her ex-boyfriend’s death, Jemmye Carroll, who appeared on Real World alongside Knight, gave the following statement to Us Weekly.

“Living too fast was his motto. I don’t even think he would be offended by us sitting here saying that. That’s who he was as a person.”

The death of Knight came just two weeks after the death of another Real World star, Diem Brown, who passed away following her third cancer diagnosis on November 4. While filming The Challenge abroad, Brown fell ill and was taken to a local hospital. Then, after being transferred back to New York in August, it was revealed the reality star was suffering from stomach and colon cancer. Months later, surrounded by friends and family, including her on-again, off-again boyfriend, and fellow Real World star Chris “CT” Tamburello, Brown took her final breath at the age of 34.

Ironically, Knight was filming The Challenge, as well, and the season, which was dedicated to both Knight and Brown, began airing earlier this year.

Following the Real World star’s passing, MTV released the following statement to Us Weekly.

“We are saddened to hear the news of the passing of Ryan Knight. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”

Earlier this month, the Real World star’s girlfriend at the time of his death, Mackenzie Jauer, shared the following tweet and photo with her followers on Twitter.

Knight’s season of the Real World took place in New Orleans and aired in 2010.
