Joey DiJulio Accidentally Got Invited To A Stranger’s Bachelor Party On The Opposite Side Of The Country, So He Decided To Go

Joey DiJulio wasn’t exactly sure what to do when he started getting emails from a group of friends who lived on the opposite side of the country and were planning a bachelor party for one of their pals.

Joey got email after email, and found their planning and banter amusing so he shared some updates of their progress with his wife and some of his Facebook friends.

Some of Joey’s friends thought it would be funny if he flew across the country and crashed the party, so eventually Joey responded to the group and floated the idea.

Hi All,

So, I have no idea who any of you guys are, but I have been enjoying being a fly on the wall hearing about the plans for this bachelor party over the last few months.

I’m assuming my E-Mail address was added to the list by mistake (perhaps a typo of someone else?).

I live out in Seattle, WA and although for a moment I thought it might be funny to just show up and be that guy nobody knows but everyone wonders “who is that guy?”, buying a plane ticket for a cross-country flight just to crash a bachelor’s party might be a bit over the top (although it would be epic!).

Apparently the group thought it would be epic as well. They joked about all chipping in $20 to get Joey a plane ticket so he could attend the bachelor party. Then the groom, a man named Jeff Minetti who actually bears a strong resemblance to Joey, sent him this:

Joe,

I’m overnighting you a wedding invite. You show up at the bachelor party and ill make you my best man. You can give the toast even

Jeff

So Joey decided why not.

“I thought, they say in life you regret the things you don’t do, not the things you do.” Joey told Q13 Fox. “All I was hearing from Jeff’s friends and my own friends was ‘You need to go.’ ”

Joey DiJulio then started a GoFundMe page to raise some of the money needed to fly out. In just two days it received close to $2,500 and attracted donations from people across the country excited to help make the connection happen.

Joey DiJulio said he is planning to fly out March 27 to attend the bachelor party, but he’s got another surprise in mind — he is raising money to send Jeff Minetti and his new wife to Europe for a honeymoon.
