iPad Mini 4 Could Be Coming Soon

The iPad Mini 4 could be coming sooner rather than later and that arrival could finally boost the popularity of the iPad Mini line. If reports are true, then the newest iPad Mini will be the most powerful yet, complete with an A8 processor that is also inside the iPhone 6 series. Other reports say the new tablet will also have 802.11ac connectivity. These are upgrades over the iPad Mini 3 which had an A7 processor and just 802.11 connectivity.

None of these rumors are all that new, but what is popping up more and more is that the announcement date could be coming rather quickly. It always seems to be this time of year when people start talking about the newest Apple device. Venture Capital Post says that while the impending release are just rumors, there is talk that the device could get unveiled in a matter of weeks.

Part of the reason the rumors are running so rampant this time is because of how unhappy people have been with the iPad Mini 3. Of course, if Apple was really that close to unveiling the iPad Mini 4, it would have made sense to unveil the device at the same time it was showing off the Apple Watch and the new gold Macbook. On the other hand, the Cupertino company hasn’t always made moves that make a lot of sense to the media like that. There have been times when a new device was launched just weeks after a big reveal. It has happened less often in the last few years.

So why are the rumors of a new iPad Mini heating up so much, right after it appears Apple has basically said it has nothing new to offer right now? Motley Fool points out that it seems apparent the company was deliberately holding things back when it launched the iPad Mini 3. The A8 processor was well known among the developers in the firm and that left people scratching their head when it wasn’t included in the last release.

Motley Fool also points out that Apple might have held some of these features back as a way to keep costs down. Computer parts are always decreasing in cost over the years and it’s possible the Cupertino firm knew it could get away with the A7 for one more year. 2015 might be a more cost effective time for Apple to launch the iPad Mini 4 along with the A8 processor and other new features.
