Jana Duggar ’19 Kids And Counting’: Eldest Duggar Daughter Quits Show, Tired Of Mothering Siblings?

Jana Duggar is leaving 19 Kids And Counting, making the decision to break away from her family. According to The Hollywood Gossip, the 25-year-old daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar has decided that she doesn’t want to do reality television anymore. As the oldest daughter, Jana has been instrumental in helping her parents with her younger siblings, but she feels like she has been living a life that she didn’t choose, and she wants something more.

“She told her parents that she was looking at Christian colleges and would be applying soon. Jana knows she needs to get on with her education if she doesn’t want to be stuck at her mom and dad’s house in Arkansas for the rest of her life,” shared a source.

Jana Duggar leaving 19 Kids And Counting is surprising to fans, but many feel that it was a long time coming. As Jana watched two of her sisters get married (Jill and Jessa), and her brother (her twin, John) get married, and have a family of his own, she has kind of just been looked over, and that is something that she is reportedly ready to change.

According to Fashion & Style, Jana doesn’t want to be the “unpaid babysitter” anymore. She wants to get an education, and to branch out on her own, not having to worry so much about what’s going on at home. She has many interests that far supersede being a stay-at-home mom (which might come in time). In the book The Duggar’s: 20 And Counting, Jana opened up about things that she’s interested in. And while she did say that she loves being the “big sister,” sources say that Jana is looking for more than that at this point.

“I love working with children and I especially love being around new babies, You might think I get plenty of that as being part of this big family. But I also volunteer at a children’s shelter to help entertain and visit with the little ones there. I have lots of other interests too, including sewing, cooking and playing the piano, violin and harp. I enjoy decorating and helping plan parties and political-campaign events. I love being the big sister to a houseful of siblings,” Jana said.

Jana Duggar has been on 19 Kids And Counting since the very beginning. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, people have noticed that Jana hasn’t been too concerned with boys, or falling in love. It does seem like she is going after something else, and that she wants to be successful doing what she enjoys.

Do you think Jana is making the right decision?
