One Direction Fans Tweet: Stop Smoking Guys!

Can you believe that at least three of the members of One Direction are smoking cigarettes on a somewhat regular basis? In mid-February, photographs in a Daily Mail UK article show Louis Tomlinson puffing away. And we are not talking about the incident last year where Simon Cowell told Billboard Magazine that he would defend One Direction members caught smoking marijuana.

Of course, One Direction fans are already worried enough with Zayn Malik popping up in the press for poor behavior. Could Malik’s troubles and the pictures of them everywhere smoking be clues that this band is on the road to ruin?

The One Direction cigarette photos keep appearing online in greater numbers, and on Twitter, fans are being very vocal about the issue. Naturally, the fans are pleading with One Direction to quit smoking cigarettes. @Louisismine2524 tweeted One Direction directly and said, ” If I say something u don’t like, it doesn’t mean that I don’t love u, its just that I can’t explain my feelings. No Smoking.”

Are all the One Direction band members smokers? Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are definitely the smokers of the group, with Liam Payne following closely behind. Harry Styles’ mother was quick to defend her son as nicotine-free in a Now Magazine interview in 2013.

Niall Horan created a scandal for One Direction in 2012 when he was photographed by the Daily Mail UK having a cigarette after a night of drinking. However, it appears that Niall Horan is not One Direction’s heaviest smoker — and probably does not smoke at all.

As for Liam Payne, a fan pleaded with him to quit smoking in mid-2014, according to the Mirror UK, but he did not quit.

Are the members of One Direction smoking like freight trains or just smoking sporadically? It is difficult to tell. Despite the pleas in the past from fans telling One Direction to give up cigarettes, photos and video taken in December show that the three main One Direction smokers have not yet quit the habit.

At the BBC Awards in mid-December, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson were smoking outside during the show. Liam Payne was also photographed by the Daily Mail UK around the same time smoking a cigarette outside of his hotel in London.

Liam smoking coupled with footage of Louis and Zayn smoking confirms that at least three out of the five One Direction band members are at least occasionally smoking cigarettes as of December.

Should fans be angry that One Direction is smoking cigarettes? Bad habits are difficult to break, but One Direction fans point out that they just want to protect the health of their favorite singers.
