The Dress: Kim Kardashian And Taylor Swift Join The Great Color Debate

“The Dress” debate caused Kim Kardashian to quarrel with husband Kanye West. The two couldn’t agree on the color of the dress on Thursday night. Kim took to Twitter to get some help from her 29.4 million followers.

Kardashian tweeted her thoughts. She said, “What color is that dress? I see white & gold. Kanye sees black & blue, who is color blind?”

It’s not just Kimye that’s confused about the real colors of the dress. Taylor Swift was left baffled as well.

She tweeted, “I don’t understand this odd dress debate and I feel it’s a trick somehow. I’m confused and scared. PS it’s obviously BLUE AND BLACK.”

It sounds like Taylor and Kanye now have something in common, as they both believe that the dress is blue and black.

Kim and Taylor weren’t the only celebrities to join in on the debate about the dress. Oscar winner Julianne Moore supported The Office’s B.J. Novak. Both actors agreed that the dress is actually white and gold. Justin Bieber even dropped his input.

The singer added, “[F]or everyone asking I see blue and black.”

The dress has had everyone talking since Thursday night. It’s become one of the greatest online debates of 2015. Some would say that it’s a color debate that’s more important than Pantone’s Color of the Year.

On Thursday, February 26, a Tumblr user named “Swiked” shared a photo of the two-tone body-con dress. She included the caption, “Guys please help me – this dress white and gold, or blue and black? Me and my friends can’t agree.”

Several people across different social media outlets have shared their opinions on the dress. It has also caused people to support #TeamBlueandBlack and #TeamWhiteGold, as previously mentioned on the Inquisitr. No one could come to a general agreement to the real colors of “The Dress.”

There is a scientific explanation behind the way that people perceive the dress. Wired investigated, and according to the report, the color discrepancy comes down to lighting and retina differences. Photoshop may have also been involved to “trick” some people’s eyes.

The dress is believed to be designed by Roman Originals, according to Us Weekly. The site explains that it comes in a deep violet blue, peach or blood red. There is no white and gold dress in sight. There isn’t even one that exists on the internet.

What colors did you see on the dress? Do you see black and blue, or white and gold?
