Doutzen Kroes has left the building! That's right; the Victoria's Secret Angel is the latest to turn in her wings.
According to People Style Watch, Doutzen Kroes quietly left the popular lingerie brand back in December, and they are only just now addressing her exit. So what sparked the news of Kroes' exit? Fans of both the supermodel and the lingerie brand had been asking question following the news of fellow Angel, Karlie Kloss's departure.
Victoria's Secret president and chief marketing officer Ed Razek reportedly took to Instagram to address Doutzen Kroes' departure according to US Weekly.
"After I posted the news about @karliekloss leaving VS I got a number of texts asking me why I hadn't said anything about @doutzen leaving at the end of last year. Fair question. The simple answer is I should have. Doutzen had a lucrative opportunity in Europe and it would have conflicted with her VS obligations. So, at her agency's request, we released her from contract. There was no conflict. No animosity. None of the nonsense I've read on Instagram. She had a great business opportunity, and I wanted to be fair to someone I adore and respect. That's all. I honestly believe Doutzen is one of the most stunningly beautiful people in the world. And I always will. I have told her that many times. Now you know."One of the great business opportunities Doutzen Kroes had on her schedule was an opportunity to be on the March 2015 collector's edition for Vogue Netherlands magazine, according to a previous report by the Inquisitr.
The photo shoot took Kroes to New York, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam and featured not only the model and her talents, but also her husband, Sunnery James, and their two children, Phyllon, 4, and 7-month-old Myllena.
The Vogue photo shoot stirred up a bit of controversy for the former Victoria's Secret model though, as one of the photos featured Kroes and her family lounging in bed together while the mother-of-two casually breastfed her baby girl. While many fell in love with the photo, there were many more that criticized Kroes for publicizing something that many believe should be kept private.
While Doutzen Kroes may have hung up her Angel wings, that doesn't mean she is slowing down anytime soon. According to US Weekly, the former Victoria's Secret model also has contracts with L'Oreal Paris, Calvin Klein, Tiffany & Co., Dolce & Gabbana, and more.
