When it comes to things that emotionally touches people’s hearts, Disney Magic is probably one of the best. It brings wonder and awe to children. It makes adults feel the joy of being a kid again. Summarized, Disney Magic is truly amazing. The Inquisitr understands just how important this magic truly is, reporting on news pertaining to how it effects people day in and day out. For example, a man truly tapped into Disney Magic by giving his girlfriend the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift ever: having her drawn as the Disney princess in classic Disney Animation movies such as Beauty & The Beast and The Little Mermaid. Now, the latest news on Disney Magic shows how it was able to warm the hearts of shoppers in the midst of this intense winter by having Disney characters shadow them in a mall.
According to People and followed-up by Huffington Post, a crew from Disney recently set up a shadow show at the Westfield Sunrise Center in Massapequa, New York. Utilizing one of the empty store fronts, they topped the show with a sign that read “Umbra Penumbra Magic Shop” with a proclamation of being established in 1955. It should be noted how smart those two details are when it comes to both Disney and the shadow show. Umbra and penumbra are distinct parts of a shadow, while 1955 is the year Disneyland first opened.
The Disney characters featured to shadow shoppers include Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and of course Mickey. Other characters who make appearances include Woody and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story Series, Elsa, Anna, and Olaf from Frozen, the Evil Queen as the old hag from Snow White, and Cinderella. It does take some time for shoppers to realize they’re being shadowed by Disney characters but once they feel the Disney Magic, they have some fun. Probably the most entertaining part of the video is when Mickey shadows a shopper’s sweet dance moves in which I daresay the world’s famous mouse actually one-upped the guy.
Once a crowd gathers, the Disney characters step out of the shadow show to greet them. Just watching the reactions and emotions some of the people display seeing the Disney characters in real life is enough to melt your heart and believe in that Disney Magic. What would you have done if you were the one to walk by the Umbra Penumbra Magic Shop, just to find Mickey Mouse shadowing you?
