‘The Young And The Restless’ Recap: A Fire, A Cover-Up, And Rescues Ahead In Genoa City

This is a big week on The Young and the Restless, as a plane crash and a big winter storm leave many Genoa City residents in dangerous situations. Just how did it play out in Wednesday’s show? Does everybody make it out of their dire situations alive?

She Knows Soaps shares the scoop on the February 18 episode of The Young and the Restless. Sharon and Faith get into the house after getting into a car accident and Sharon is filled with anxiety. Dylan soon catches up to them and even offers to say he was driving the car. He makes a fire for them and notices that her head is bleeding.

At The Underground, Nikki worries about Dylan and she mutters something about Phyllis as she walks away. Victor grabs her arm and confronts her about the fact that she’s drunk. He realizes this has been happening for a while, and then Phyllis interrupts and says she’s ready to go. Avery fights with Joe about Nikki and Dylan, and Adam mentions to Sage that the storm is coming and he hopes Chelsea’s not out there.

Ashley confronts Jack about sleeping with Kelly and as he walks off, the ceiling can be seen crumbling. As Nick and Sage talk, the lights go out. A moment later, the ceiling caves in on them. They talk about those on the other side of the wall, with Nick worried about Nikki and Victor while Sage says she has nobody. They kiss. Nikki and Phyllis tell Victor they’re fine, but Victor finds Jack unconscious. Joe is pinned under metal and Avery helps him out, saying she would have helped anybody.

Chelsea smells smoke at her penthouse, and she and Billy realize there’s a fire. Billy sends Chelsea out with Johnny and he goes back to get Connor. Adam shows up and runs in to get Connor. He finds Billy passed out on the floor and he can’t get him up. Adam takes Connor out to Chelsea and goes back in for Billy. Before he can come back out, there’s an explosion.

At the Abbott cabin, Courtney and Summer hesitate over the statue and Summer gasps that she’s the one who killed Austin. Everybody bickers as people reason that she couldn’t have been the one who killed him. Courtney says that she has to report that Summer said she killed him, but Mariah and Kevin suggest that they all cover up what happened. A lot of debate takes place, but Courtney agrees to go along with it.

The group puts Austin’s body outside as Summer cries and Mariah kneels over him and says she’ll keep Summer safe. As she does, she flashes back to Austin and Abby kissing. The show has teased that there would be a death this week on The Young and the Restless, and many suspected it would be Austin. Now it seems that’s indeed the direction the show went.

At the plane wreck, Hilary goes unconscious as she tries to talk to Neil. Lily is still missing and Jill is ranting. Hilary regains her pulse and Cane shows up carrying Lily, who is unconscious as well. As Lily awakens she mumbles about Cane lying, and he promises to make it up to her. Devon holds Hilary and Neil tells everybody they have to fight to stay alive.

What Young and Restless spoilers are available for the rest of the week? There is shocking news ahead for Lauren while things continue to get romantic for Sage and Nick. Avery has to rely on Joe while Jack and Victor have to work together. There’s a startling confession ahead and of course everybody will be anxious to see what happens with Billy.

Did Summer really kill Austin? Will Hilary and Lily fully recover? Celeb Dirty Laundry teases that perhaps Hilary will end up paralyzed, and there have been Young and Restless spoilers that the Winters family will be turned upside down by this plane crash. That would certainly mix things up a great deal after Neil’s confession about his sight returning.

Tune in to The Young and the Restless airing weekdays on CBS to see just what happens next.
