Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Aunt: ‘Krissi Is Not Safe Right Now’ [Video]
As Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, lies in a hospital room fighting for her life, rumors are running rampant regarding her condition and whether her near-drowning was an accident or deliberate. Amidst the chaos and false reports, it’s difficult to understand the true nature of the situation. One thing is certain, however. Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, Leolah Brown, places the blame on Krissi’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon.
Leolah Brown was very close to her sister-in-law, Whitney Houston. In fact, when Whitney died tragically in a bathtub drowning that is eerily similar to the one involving Bobbi Kristina, Leolah Brown was not convinced it was an accident. In a 2012 interview with Access Hollywood soon after Houston’s death, Ms. Brown spoke out strongly on her suspicions regarding the incident and her concern for Bobbi Kristina.
“I believe Whitney’s death was not accidental. No…it’s very important to know that she did not just pass away like that. No. And if it’s the last thing that I do, I’m going to find out what truly happened to my sister.”
Was Bobbi Kristina’s aunt talking about Nick Gordon even then? Did she suspect him of playing a part in Whitney’s demise, or was she simply fearful of his relationship with Bobbi Kristina? Gordon was taken in by Houston as a preteen, essentially growing up as a brother to Bobbi Kristina.
The cryptic statements of Leolah Brown leave us to wonder if she notices something sinister about the boyfriend of Bobbi Kristina. Or was she perhaps speaking of someone else?
“Right now is the time to just really shut the door… Krissi is not safe right now. I want to say to Krissi that it’s very, very, very important that she does not trust anybody at this time. Anybody except her father, her grandmother Cissy and myself. And I mean that.”
The attorney of Ms. Brown, Reginald Mason, clarified her statement a bit, saying they were concerned there were people who “possibly would want to take advantage of Bobbi Kristina’s fragile state of mind.”
Leolah is hopeful that Bobbi Kristina will make a full recovery. In a report by Christian Post, she states that Bobbi Kristina is doing well.
“She’s still on life support. We know that she’s opening her eyes. That’s true. She’s opening her eyes and there’s a few more things that she’s doing but Krissi is doing well right now. She is.”
