Kim Kardashian And Kendall Jenner Compete For Weight Loss And Media Attention: Diet Details [Video]

You might think that a big family who has to work together for a reality TV show would stick together like birds of a feather. However, when you’re contemplating Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, the only feathers are on their ultra-chic attire. The two are competing in every area, so much so that Kendall did not want Kim to attend her fashion show, reported ABC News.

The 19-year-old aspiring model wanted to be alone in her first Marc Jacobs fashion show. And that solo venture included banning members of her family from the audience.

“I didn’t need it to be a family affair. As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family.”

In addition, said Kendall, she feels that the media always focuses automatically on Kim if she’s there.

“If they were sitting front row, it would have been all about, ‘Oh, Kim goes to Kendall’s first fashion show!'” accused Jenner.

However, Kendall quickly added that she loves her older sister. She just feels that because Kim, at 34, has become such a breakout star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that the attention on her isn’t easy to handle.

“I love Kim, but for a minute I wanted it to be like, ‘OK, this is [Kendall’s] thing — she’s taking it seriously,'” reflected Kendall.

The two sisters also disagree when it comes to the best way to achieve their weight loss goals. Kim has been using a combination of diets, exercise, and a concept called waist-training, according to Us Weekly.

For her food plan, Kim follows a low-carb diet, modeled after the high-fat ketogenic Atkins plan. It emphasizes protein such as chicken or fish, healthy fats such as avocado, and non-starchy vegetables such as cauliflower. She was particularly diligent about following it prior to her wedding.

Kardashian also works out regularly with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, as the Inquisitr reported. The fitness regime includes cardio work to burn calories as well as strength-training to tone and add flexibility.

However, the waist trainer is a more unusual concept, with the basics dating back to the days of Scarlett O’Hara and corsets.

“I really made the waist trainer for every girl,” said PreMadonna, who created the brand that the Kardashians use, called What’s a Waist. “It gives you that extra curve without any tricks or gimmicks.”

But is it safe? Only when used in moderation, emphasizes one physician.

“Long term, corsets can compromise your ability to move and breath. It can displace the lungs, liver and intestines,” cautioned Dr. Sara Gottfried, author of The Hormone Reset Diet.

So does already-slender Kendall also use waist-training to get into skinny super-model shape? No, she has chosen a weight loss detox plan that consists primarily of a cleansing tea and raw vegetables, according to Hollywood Life.

“She wants desperately to be taken seriously as a model,” said a source. “And if it means starving herself, she’ll do it.”

Focused on controlling her food intake, Kendall drinks 12 cups of tea daily along with the veggies.

“During a recent family dinner, Kendall ordered just a bunch of raw veggies and nibbled on them.”
