Robert Griffin III posted a simple Instagram video with RG3 singing along to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” — a short and cute Instagram video that all of a sudden turned into a war of words between RG3 and an Instagram hater, reports ESPN. First off, view the RG3 Instagram video here that somehow turned a fun moment into a back and forth between Griffin and his critics, although most of the RG3 Instagram followers were supportive, telling @rgiii that they are looking forward to a comeback.
“Jamming to MJ on the way to get that work in this morning #BillyJean. What you working with this morning?”
Well, according to ESPN, Instagram user @cperezrn started going in on RG3, telling him he’d be cut.
“This is why you will be cut after next year in Washington. Why you weren’t even mentioned as the future. You are a ‘QB’. Act like one. [RG3] cares more about his brand, social media than working in his craft.”
But it wasn’t over at that point. Whereas some in the public eye choose to ignore their haters and not even read their comments, apparently that criticism set RG3 off.
“If giving back to the community and training for football at the same time is frowned upon…..then what would you say I do Sir? Not give back or Train? Honest Question. Oh wait…and should I not enjoy a classic song with others who Love MJ? I’m just asking for your wisdom here.”
The fact that RG3 sang “Billie Jean” on Instagram, according to USA Today, has caused some critics to say that Griffin should spend less time arguing with social media haters, or use their derision and vitriol for fuel, as one Instagram user suggested to RG3.
“superschanne They hate us cuz they ain’t us!”
As reported by the Inquisitr, the Redskins gave fans a hint about Robert Griffin III when they left him off of their list of key players in a recent letter sent to ticket holders. Overall, though, RG3 is getting lots of support on Instagram.
“ravi16m If you’re gonna hate on this man please re evaluate yourself. I’ve never heard of most of you where as rg3 is an NFL qb. You can’t give ‘advice’ to people that are above you. Stay in your lane.”
“nate_mcgrew@rgiii is one of the greatest men alive. You don’t see him disrespecting the game he loves or not trying for the team he says for. He played through injury as a rookie just to put his team in a winning situation, where was the hate then? I’m a die hard Cowboys fan but if there was one dude in the NFL that I would want representing my favorite team he’d be on the top of the list. Most respect for you RGIII, keep showing out.”
