WWE Superstar Roman Reigns could be going heel soon. The idea was teased a bit on WWE RAW last night, but the idea has been thought of for some time now. Most would see this as a bit of a storyline scenario with Reigns. Obviously, he wants to show he is the dominant force going into his match with Daniel Bryan, so it would be smart to establish this by dropping Bryan in the main event of WWE RAW and go out looking great.
It makes a lot of sense, but in reality this sets up more than we realize.
As The Inquisitr posted yesterday, there is a big chance that WWE will change the main event of WrestleMania 31 into a triple threat to include Daniel Bryan. The current idea is to have Bryan go over Reigns in their match at WWE Fast Lane to earn a spot in the main event. Reigns would then use his contractual right to be in the main event because he won the Royal Rumble match. So both men would go on to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
According to Daily Wrestling News, Reigns will be the heel going into this and still could if WWE plans to have Reigns go over Bryan at WWE Fast Lane to give us a regular one-on-one match for the title at Mania.
Since WWE certainly cannot turn Daniel Bryan heel, he would be the underdog babyface. Fans are already cheering more for Brock Lesnar, so he’d be the tweener. Naturally since more boos are coming for Reigns, he’d turn full heel within the next few months. They may tease things here and there.
Regardless of who wins at WWE Fast Lane, the idea to turn Reigns heel is present and being heavily considered. The reason being that he needs it to survive the current issues with the WWE fans. The scenario is being presented for WWE to use the boos to their benefit. It makes a lot of sense to do it now while he is hot enough to take advantage. Plus, WWE needs more top heels now that they have so many babyfaces present.
It also sets up immediate matches for Reigns after WrestleMania is over. Brock Lesnar will be gone either for a couple months or for a very long time. Regardless, Reigns needs someone to work with. As a heel, he has a lot of potential matches available. So if WWE does pull this trigger, it may be best for Reigns and the WWE as a whole.
