Dionne Warwick, a first cousin to the late pop legend Whitney Houston and a legendary singer in her own right, was hospitalized for an accident in a shower — exactly one week before Bobbi Kristina Brown, Houston’s daughter and the first cousin once removed of Dionne Warwick, suffered a bathtub mishap that has left her near death.
Whitney Houston died of a drug overdose in a bathtub about three years earlier.
Warwick, known for such 1960s classic hits as “Walk On By,” “Alfie,” and “Do You Know The Way To San Jose,” is now 74-years-old and could have been severely injured in the shower fall, which occurred in her South Orange, New Jersey, home.
She was hospitalized for two weeks, after undergoing surgery on an injured ankle.
The celebrity news site TMZ, which learned of the Dionne Warwick shower fall, noted an eerie coincidence.
“The timing is remarkable,” the site wrote. “The 911 call for Dionne came in at 10:19 AM on Saturday, January 24th. The 911 call for Bobbi Kristina came in exactly a week later, at 10:25 AM on Saturday, January 31st.”

The songstress has undergone struggles of her own lately. Not only was she reportedly distraught over the death of her cousin Whitney Houston in 2012, the following year she filed for personal bankruptcy. In 2013, Warwick said that her management had mishandled her finances, resulting in approximately $10 million in tax liabilities to federal and state governments.
In the 1990s, Warwick also damaged her public persona by taking a job as celebrity spokesperson for the “Psychic Friends Network,” a telephone service that charged users $3.99 per minute to speak to a supposed psychic on the phone.
Warwick appeared in late-night infomercials for the Psychic Friends Network for a period of about five years — until the business went bankrupt in 1998.
The Bobbi Kirstina Brown crisis has also devastated Warwick, according to sources who spoke to the gossip site Hollywood Life.
“Dionne is too old for this and her heart is weak. She’s gone through this before with Whitney and it nearly killed her. To think Bobbi Kristina won’t make it through will rip poor Dionne to shreds,” the site’s source said.
Dionne Warwick would have been hospitalized herself at the time Bobbi Kristina Brown was admitted to the hospital.
