First Poster For ‘Magic Mike XXL’ Is Out And It Sets Just The Right Tone

Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike XXL may hit the theaters on July 1 this year, but the production house has released its first poster for Channing’s fans to drool over.

The poster features Channing Tatum, a respected Hollywood A-lister wearing a bandana, flat brim and jeans, but no shirt. If that’s not all, those who are familiar with Magic Mike will chuckle at the innuendo openly hidden in the words ‘Coming 07.01.2015’, typed across Channing’s neither regions.

The sequel to the hit movie by the same name, minus the XXL, also features Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias apart from Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, Amber Heard, Jada Pinkett Smith, Andie MacDowell and Michael Strahan. Surprisingly, Matthew McConaughey, one of the few stars with a ripped body in Hollywood, doesn’t make an appearance. As for the roles these stars play, the director has chosen to stay mysterious.

“They’re part of who these guys meet along the way, and the reveal of that is really fun.”

The follow-up to Tatum’s much acclaimed male strip club drama, which lap-danced its way into pop culture history nearly three years ago, has an agonizingly painful wait slated ahead.

Those involved with the project have surprisingly managed to closely guard the storyline of Magic Mike XXL. Though director-producer Gregory Jacobs still remains hesitant to reveal the plot or at the least, where the movie franchisee is headed, he did let a few tidbits about the movie which stars Channing Tatum as an odd-job worker by day, a male stripper by night.

“It’s a road-trip picture. Mike and the guys get back together, and adventure ensues. They look incredible … Their shirts are off an appropriate amount, let’s put it that way! I don’t think anyone’s going to be disappointed.”

Asked what fans are to expect besides a bunch of slicked-up hot bodied men dancing, Jacobs said.

“It’s dramatic and emotional but not as dark [as the first film]. It’s such a great group of people. We had a blast making it. I hope that comes across on screen.”

Apparently, it was Channing Tatum himself who “leaked” the poster on Twitter.

Clearly, when it comes to Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike movies, we all pretty much know exactly what we want out of them. And it seems the team behind the sequel Magic Mike XXL knows exactly what the audience wants if this first poster is any indication.
