Bravo Producers Were Unhappy With ‘RHONJ’ Season Six, Plan For ‘New Vibe’

Bravo producers are working hard on the upcoming seventh season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Following the series’ sixth season, the show’s unofficial star, Teresa Giudice, began serving a 15-month prison term for bank and wire fraud, which put Bravo producers in a tough situation. Now, weeks later, reports claim network execs are working hard at establishing a “new vibe” for Season 7.

On January 30, a source revealed the following via People Magazine.

“The network wasn’t happy with last season. They want a new vibe with fresh Jersey faces.”

Ahead of Season 6, Bravo producers said goodbye to Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita as they began filming Manzo’d With Children, and brought on twins Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Aprea, as well as Amber Marchese and Dina Manzo. Then, after noticing a decline in ratings, they brought Laurita back to the series in a part-time role.

While it may be a while before the cast of Season 7 is announced, People‘s source said changes were definitely coming. However, that said, they are planning to have some of the wives from Season 6 return.

“Some older faces will for sure come back to keep the viewers happy. It could get interesting.”

As for when the show will return, the source explained, “No one knows when it’s coming back.”

Earlier this week, the Inquisitr reported that The Real Housewives of New Jersey could move forward without Teresa Giudice. While Giudice is certainly one of the most notable wives, a source claimed to Radar Online that Bravo producers weren’t ready to put the series on hold until her release.

“The show will absolutely go on without Teresa. Bravo isn’t expected to make it public until the end of February, but filming has been loosely scheduled for late April, early May. No formal dates have been made for filming to begin because producers are still looking for potential new cast members.”

In a second Radar Online report, a source claimed the network was currently searching for new wives.

“After the seedy drama surrounding Teresa Giudice, production really wants to class up the franchise. They’re looking for someone like Lisa Vanderpump from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

“Mercedes? BMW? That’s not at all what they’re looking for. They want someone who drives even more expensive cars than those. Think Bentley. They also want someone who has a huge house.”

Bravo producers have yet to officially confirm Season 7 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
