The Android Lollipop 5.0 update is finally available for the Samsung S4. The operating system is also available for the Samsung Galaxy S5, Note 4, Note 3, and Note Edge. Samsung Galaxy and Note users will be happy to hear that the long waited update is coming in the near future. But should Galaxy S4 users take advantage of the Android Lollipop update?
The Galaxy S4 has been labeled as both a high-end phone and budget Android phone by Gotta Be Mobile. It's a great option for user who want a reliable Android phone without the luxury price tag. The Android Lollipop 5.0 will breathe new life into the Galaxy S4. But consumers should also consider the cheaper Galaxy S5 and newer Galaxy S6 devices before updating to the new operating system.
The anonymous employee posted a link to an authorized email in the Reddit forum. The email confirmed that the Android Lollipop 5.0 update will be available for Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S4, in January. The employee also answered questions from users and then deleted his profile after providing too much information.
Some of the members of the forum were naturally doubtful of the information provided to them. According to Reddit moderators, the information was from a legitimate Samsung employee. The moderators said that the anonymous poster sent a photo showing that he worked for the company. They did not inform what department in the company he works, or what the scope of his job is.
According to SamMobile and the Gospel Herald, Lollipop will update to all Samsung Galaxy models from the past 16 months or so. This will include the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S5 Mini, Note Pro, Tab S, and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, it's not the best idea to update the Galaxy S4 to the Android Lollipop 5.0. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is becoming cheaper and already offers the update. Samsung's Galaxy S6 will also help reshape the mobile market with a new camera and TouchWiz software. It's best for Galaxy S4 users to hold off on the update and upgrade to a newer phone.
