Yolanda Foster Fights Lyme Disease With ‘Risky’ Treatment That’s Not FDA Approved

Yolanda Foster is undergoing treatment for Lyme Disease in Asia this week, and reports suggest that the procedures she’s enduring are “risky.” According to InTouch Weekly, the treatment is being called “controversial,” as it is not FDA approved. And while you may think that this is dangerous for Foster, her husband, David, is paying an awful lot of money to make sure his wife is in the best possible care.

“Yolanda accompanied David to Singapore as he films ‘Asia Got Talent,’ and she is receiving medical treatment while there. The medications aren’t approved by the FDA in the United States yet,” said a source.

Yolanda Foster has been fighting Lyme Disease for three years now. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star was getting better until a devastating relapse in December. In her Bravo blog, Yolanda revealed that she is no longer able to “read, write, or even watch television.” The model is unable to process information, and stimulation doesn’t register in her brain, which is the organ being attacked in her case; not everyone with Lyme Disease loses brain function.

Foster has done her homework when it comes to the debilitating disease. She feels confident traveling the world for treatment because nothing in the United States is helping her. It hasn’t been an easy struggle, but Yolanda is determined to find a way out of this.

“A lot of great medicines and ancient therapies are blocked by the FDA, so that’s why I choose to travel and recognize the value of diverse points of view in medicine. I am a firm believer that God often uses our deepest pain as the launching pad of our greatest call, so even though I have not found a cure, I have faith that I will.”

Yolanda Foster is lucky to have the love and support of her husband. According to Radar Online, many of the treatments that Yolanda is receiving are not covered by insurance. David, however, will pay whatever it costs to help his wife.

“David has vowed to spend whatever is needed to get her cured. The treatment outside of the United States isn’t covered by insurance, and it’s very expensive. Luckily, they can afford it,” said a source.

The reality star has also expressed a desire to help other “Lymies,” and hopes to find a cure in the not-so-distant future.
