Daniel Radcliffe Admits He’s ‘Crap’ at Dating

Daniel Radcliffe- probably best known for his role as Harry in the Harry Potter franchise of films- may get fangirls screaming, but the actor says that when it comes to real life dating, he’s not exactly a wizard.

Radcliffe has been happily dating Potter production assistant Rosie Coker, but he says that his skills with the ladies could use some polishing up overall. The actor- who did a lengthy stint this year on the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying– says that even with Coker, his game left much to be desired. He explained his difficulty in overcoming some dating milestones:

“I hated dating, because I’m crap at it! With Rosie, I didn’t know what was appropriate, like on which date you’re supposed to try and kiss her. I went to kiss Rosie and at the last minute lost my nerve and ended up kissing her neck, which is a very intimate place to kiss somebody on the second date. Fortunately, she just found it really funny.”

Radcliffe, who says that “there are lots of times when I’m a very good boyfriend, but there are times when I’m useless,” seems to think he lucked out in meeting Coker, and reports that she’s very patient in dealing with his quirks. The actor explains:

“I’m a mess around the house. I talk nonstop. I become obsessed with things (fantasy football, most recently). And she listens to it, and she loves me for my oddness, my awkwardness – all of those things that I hate about myself.”

But the star says that with Coker, “every day seems better,” and that relationships amount to “having somebody in your life who makes you happier than you thought you could be.” Awww…
