WWE News: Sting Likely Appearing On RAW Next Week — What Will His Role Be?

It’s been nearly two months since wrestling legend Sting made his WWE debut, and next Monday he could be making his first ever appearance on WWE’s flagship show RAW.

Next week’s RAW will see the return of four WWE Hall of Famers — Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair [who is replacing Kevin Nash], and Scott Hall. The original plan was to have Nash, Hall and Hogan have an NWO reunion, but with Nash being suspended, it’s likely that Hall and Hogan will reunite the NWO on their own. As for Flair and Michaels, there’s still been no word on what their roles will be next Monday.

When Sting made his WWE debut at November’s Survivor Series, there were multiple reports that said WWE was planning on having Sting wrestle Triple H at the Royal Rumble, and then have him take on The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31. It’s possible that Sting could appear on RAW and challenge Triple H to a match at the Royal Rumble, however it’s unlikely given that WWE would only have six days to build it up.

WWE is planning on having Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback return to RAW next week, so it’s likely that Sting’s appearance could be to get Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback their jobs back.

Whenever Sting does return, don’t expect him to do too much talking, as his role is to be “The Vigilante” where he’ll show up, take people out and leave, much like he did after he first became “The Crow” in WCW, and his way of challenging people will be to simply point his bat at them, much like he did to Hulk Hogan before Starrcade 1997.

It’s still likely that Sting will take on Triple H at WrestleMania 31, and that The Undertaker will take on Bray Wyatt. But WWE still does like the idea of having Sting face off with The Undertaker, so they could change their mind sometime in the next two months.

There’s also a good chance that Sting could be joining “Macho Man” Randy Savage as an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2015. The idea is to induct Sting the night before WrestleMania 31, have him defeat Triple H at WrestleMania 31, and have him retire the very next night on RAW.
