‘Teen Mom 2’ Wedding: Jenelle Wants MTV To Pay For Event
Another Teen Mom 2 wedding is gearing up to happen, and it looks like fans of the show could see this one air on MTV. Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith announced their engagement less than a week ago and, even though a date has not yet been set, Jenelle is reportedly in talks with MTV to have her wedding aired.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time that MTV aired a Teen Mom 2 wedding on the show. Leah Messer-Calvert has had both of her weddings appear on separate seasons, and Kailyn Lowry’s marriage to Javi Marroquin also appeared on the show. Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have had their wedding planning aired, and were rumored to have their actual wedding play out on MTV, but the two postponed their nuptials. However, there are rumors that their wedding will appear on a later season of Teen Mom, which is set to come back to television very soon.
Although this is Jenelle’s third engagement, this will be her second marriage. Her first marriage lasted only briefly to Courtland Rogers, and did not appear on Teen Mom 2. Now, a source is revealing to Radar Online that the mom of two is “in negotiations” to have her wedding aired, and that the reality show star wants her event paid for by the network.
“Jenelle and MTV have a super close relationship and having her wedding get could be a big ratings hit for the network. Her chaotic life has always been on TV so there is no reason now that she’s getting married again for it not to be on MTV. But she’s getting smarter and she knows how to negotiate better so she wants MTV to pay for the wedding.”
There is no doubt that the Teen Mom 2 wedding would be a hit, as weddings always are on the show. However, Jenelle’s stories always bring in ratings, and even though she likely has a large fan base, she has an equally large base of people who dislike her. Luckily for the reality show star, these people often tune into the show to watch her, and her Teen Mom 2 wedding would likely benefit.
“Jenelle is really happy with Nathan and MTV knows that her wedding will be all about the drama and they want to make sure they capture that. MTV drives a hard bargain with Jenelle but they do pay her so they’ll have to make the offer sweet enough for her to put this all on TV.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Jenelle’s recent trip where she and Nathan got engaged has been filled with drama.
The source added that the Teen Mom 2 wedding could potentially become its own entity and appear separately from the normal season. So far, the show has been picked up for a sixth season with the entire cast signing on for it. Filming has likely not yet started, so there is a chance MTV could be there to capture the wedding for the sixth season.
At this point, it is unclear if the Teen Mom 2 wedding will appear this year, or if fans will truly get to watch it on television, but this is a story that fans will be watching closely.
