Did Kim Kardashian Buy Kourtney’s Career?

The Kardashian women always bring the drama, but never more so than in their joint reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

In the newly released preview for Season 10 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, all of the Kardashians seem primed for the drama to play out over the course of the season, but one sister seems to have her claws at the ready. In one particular scene, Kim Kardashian angrily says she isn’t “buying her a pair of shoes! I bought her a career!”

Fans and many celebrity news sites assumed that Kim Kardashian was referring to her half-sister, Kendall Jenner, whose modeling career has been red hot after she signed with Wilhelmina Models in 2013. While it’s easy to assume that Kim Kardashian’s fame and infamy purchased enough publicity to launch Kendall’s modeling career, that wasn’t the sister she meant.

Though the preview is edited so that it looks like Kim is talking about her half-sister Kendall Jenner, it seems she was actually talking about Kourtney. RadarOnline reports that Kim Kardashian confirmed that she was referring to her older sister, saying the following.

“Kourtney was being a little difficult with me. You’ll see.”

Kim reportedly declined to elaborate further, but the Keeping Up with the Kardashians preview may have done that for her. Featured prominently in the footage is a moment where Kim Kardashian’s manager, Kris Jenner, informs her about a cease and desist notice she received from Kourtney Kardashian. It seems the issue was the use of Kourtney’s image in Kim Kardashian’s widely popular mobile game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.

Kim Kardashian: Hollywood initially featured only Kim, but an update added Kris Jenner to the game. Kim announced in early December that her sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian would also be added to the game in a content update. If the disagreement was truly about the mobile game, things seem to have long since been settled behind the scenes, and fans will just have to wait for it to play out before the cameras.

It’s estimated that Kim Kardashian’s profits from the game could be as much as $40.5 million, but no information is available on Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, or Kourtney Kardashian’s compensation for their appearance in the game. Could the cease and desist have been a ploy by Kourtney Kardashian to get a larger cut of the profits?

The preview video dropped one more bombshell: a positive pregnancy test. It’s not clear who’s holding the test or who took it. Both Kim and Khloe Kardashian were at the center of pregnancy rumors in the fall of 2014, but it’s unlikely the test belongs to Kourtney; she was pregnant with son Reign until late December 2014.
