Gia Giudice Is ‘Incredibly Sad’ Over Teresa’s Prison Stint

Gia Giudice is not taking the news of her mother going to prison very well — and understandably so. As expected, the 14-year-old is devastated to be without her Real Housewives of New Jersey star mother.

“Gia is incredibly sad about not spending time with her mom on her birthday, but, like Teresa, she is very strong,” an insider told Radar Online on January 8. “She is going to put on the best face and enjoy her celebration — and she knows that her mom loves her no matter where she is.”

Luckily, as a new report states, it won’t be long before Gia Giudice and her mother are reunited.

Teresa “is getting a visit from husband Joe and daughters Gia, Gabriella, Audriana and Milania on Saturday, when the family will head to Danbury Federal Prison to visit the ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star,” Confidenti@l reported.

While the family would certainly like to spend tons of time together, even with Teresa behind bars, a source told the site she is limited to just three visits per week, and since visitation happens between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., the girls, who are in school, will only be able to see their mother on weekends.

“You can stay the day, but it’s unlikely when it gets busy,” a prison insider told Confidenti@l. “If there are too many visitors, they tell you time is up.”

Although there have been reports claiming Gia Giudice’s mother’s sentence has been reduced, her lawyer, James J. Leonard, Jr., told Confidenti@l that’s not the case.

“Her sentence was not reduced. It was 15 months, and under federal law you only have to serve 85% of that. That’s the law and her sentence has always been the same. When it’s calculated, it’s designated as her full sentence.”

Earlier this week, as the Inquisitr reported, a source claimed Bravo was considering scrapping The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

“At this point, The Real Housewives of New Jersey is essentially done. Bravo has considered all of their options and they don’t feel like there is really a show without Teresa. Whether the other women want to admit it or not, she is the star of the franchise. The show simply wouldn’t be the same without her.”

“No one has begun filming for RHONJ,” the source told Radar Online. “The future of the RHONJ is clearly in jeopardy, as there hasn’t been any talk about beginning anytime soon.”

If the show does return, fans can expect to see Gia Giudice deal with life without her mother.
