Details have emerged that Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to announce his move to Major League Soccer with an 18-month contract worth up to $9 million. Gerrard is set to earn $6 million a year and is expected to release details later this week due to the marketing schedule of the MLS which is projected to start in March.

Steven Gerrard is set to follow former teammates David Beckham and Robbie Keane to the current MLS Cup Champions LA Galaxy. The move means that Gerrard will be used to fill the gap left by MLS’s all-time leading goal scorer Landon Donovan.
