WWE News: WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan’s Return Causing Major WrestleMania 31 Changes

WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan is now back, and cleared to return to active wrestling immediately. Bryan made the announcement last week on WWE RAW that he would be competing in the Royal Rumble match in a few weeks. This is something that was hoped for, but it took a lot of time to really find out.

Bryan really didn’t know he could return this month until just a few weeks ago. In fact, only top officials knew he was coming back to wrestle. Few knew of anything until the tweet Bryan sent out, then many thought he was there to retire, not announce a comeback. It created a lot of buzz online and actually ended up increasing WWE RAW ratings a bit.

Bryan being back now causes a lot of problems. Fans want to see him in a major match, which would make sense to many. Bryan is a star and a now-proven ratings draw. WWE never really knew if Bryan could be the kind of star that would be able to draw eyeballs to the programs, but now that it is confirmed that he can do so, WWE is willing to give him more opportunities.

Sadly, due to the lateness of his return, WWE had already started to make plans for WrestleMania that did not include him. According to Daily Wrestling News, the return has caused a ripple effect and Mania matches that would have happened now may not.

In fact, there is a thought that Daniel Bryan could end up winning the Rumble match and headline WrestleMania for the second year in a row. The problem is, WWE has to use other rising stars like Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns. This does not include the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton who will also have to be featured.

WWE will also be throwing in guys like Triple H and Sting and maybe even The Undertaker. Let us not forget the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar, as well.

All of that being said, Daniel Bryan now has to have a position in this crowded field. A lot would obviously change. Some wonder why WWE didn’t just have Bryan return after WrestleMania to make things easier as well as give Bryan more time to heal up. The reason is because WWE knows the kind of draw Bryan is. They also want to take advantage of his star-power as soon as possible so they can get as much out of him as they can.

They never know when another injury could take Bryan out, or if he’ll not be able to work at all one day. His recent issue kept him out for around eight months. The uncertainty of it all hurt WWE because, unlike with others who know a timetable of their healing time to give WWE, Bryan had no idea. So WWE made plans without him and now they have to include him within those plans. This is causing a lot of issues. Thankfully, Bryan was able to come back before the Rumble.

If he was not able to do so, there would possibly not be a marquee spot for him.

WWE plans to use Bryan well this year. Rumor has it that since 2015 is the Chinese year of the Goat, it will play into Bryan’s story throughout the year. Of course, you never know how WWE will do things until they happen as plans change consistently.

At least we do know that Bryan will be part of WrestleMania 31, even if it’s not for a title. If he has to wrestle John Cena or someone to give him a major match, WWE plans to do it.
