WWE News: The Undertaker Being Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame In 2015?
Controversy has surrounded the Undertaker over the past few weeks. Nobody in the WWE Universe knows if the Undertaker will wrestle at WrestleMania 31. For the last few years, the Phenom’s status for the “Showcase of the Immortals” was always in question. The Undertaker will be entering WrestleMania season at the age of 50. His prime has certainly passed him by.
If he decides to wrestle this year, it won’t be the best match on the card. It will purely be for nostalgia, as his undefeated streak at WrestleMania ended last year at the hands of Brock Lesnar.
There are a few reports circulating around the WWE. The WWE is keeping Bray Wyatt strong, just in case the Undertaker can go at the end of March. If Taker is healthy enough, rumors state that he will face Wyatt in a match. Another report has the Undertaker wrestling Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight championship.
Then comes the last report that came in yesterday. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Undertaker might not be wrestling at WrestleMania 31 but rather be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.
WWE reportedly wants The Undertaker to be inducted into the 2015 WWE Hall Of Fame, if he chooses not to wrestle at the WrestleMania 31 event that weekend.
As noted in the past, if ‘Taker does decide to work a match at WrestleMania, WWE officials want it to be with Bray Wyatt. They are keeping him strong due to this.
Undertaker’s participation became inevitable a month ago due to his face being on the WrestleMania advertisement that is located on WWE buses. Normally, the WWE doesn’t advertise anyone for their biggest event if they aren’t going to be at the event. The fact that it is WrestleMania will intensify that fact.
There are fans in the WWE Universe that don’t think the Undertaker should wrestle, but rather that he should hang up the boots for good. His health is always in question, especially after his hellacious match against Brock Lesnar. Their rationale coincides with the fact that his streak is over, so why even wrestle?
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Sting will be at WrestleMania 31. Fans have been dreaming of this match for nearly two decades, but it looks like the WWE is going in a different direction. A multitude of WWE fans are not happy about this decision by the WWE officials. How can they have Sting on the same card as the Undertaker, but not have them face each other?
That question, as well as many more, will be answered in the coming weeks. WWE is supposedly beginning 2015 off with a bang, which may lead to Sting coming back to WWE television. With the Authority back in power, all signs points toward Sting vs. Triple H at WrestleMania 31. If that comes true, should the Undertaker even wrestle?
