Andrea Espinosa: Woman Allegedly Attacks Cop, Smiles For Mug Shot

Andrea Espinosa showed off a big smile in her mug shot on Saturday morning after being arrested for allegedly attacking an Idaho police officer.

According to People, the 25-year-old Idaho resident allegedly punched the cop directly in his face as he attempted to remove her from a stolen vehicle.

The Idaho Statesman reports that a police officer was flagged down in Meriden, Idaho at 3:45 A.M. on Saturday by a man. The man reportedly stopped his car to assist Andrea Espinosa who was walking on the street by herself. All he wanted to do was make sure that she was okay, but the woman quickly jumped into the car and ordered him to drive.

Instead of following her orders, the man decided to get out of the car and flag down police.

Espinosa was in the driver’s seat of the car and trying to drive away when she was approached by the police officer. The officer opened the car door and attempted to apprehend Andrea Espinosa. However, according to the report, Andrea did not respond very well to the officer intervening.

Using a closed fist, Andrea Espinosa allegedly punched the police officer in the face and kneed him in his thigh as she was being placed into the patrol car.

Andrea Espinosa was booked in Ada County Jail. In addition to showcasing a bright smile for her mug shot, according to KTVB, Andrea was also inconsistent and appeared confused when being questioned.

Andrea Espinosa was charged with misdemeanor resisting and obstructing as well as assault or battery on a police officer, which are both felonies.
