Charlize Theron Engaged: Sean Penn Popped The Question In Paris
Sean Penn and Charlize Theron have reportedly taken their relationship to the next level.
Hollywood Life reports that the couple is engaged after Sean Penn decided to pop the question to Charlize during their recent vacation in Paris, France.
The 54-year-old actor and 39-year-old actress have been dating each other since December, 2013.
If Sean Penn and Charlize Theron do eventually make it to the altar, it will mark the third time that Penn has been married. His first marriage to Madonna ended in 1989 after four years, and his 14-year marriage to Robin Wright ended in 2010.

Charlize Theron, on the other hand, has never been married. She has had numerous relationships over the years with such actors as Stuart Townsend and Craig Bierko, as well as Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins. However, none of those relationships made it to the altar.
If Charlize decides to say “I do” when the time comes, Sean Penn would officially become her first husband.
Keep in mind that the Oscar-winning actress has been very outspoken recently when it comes to the fact of her not being in a rush to get to the altar.
In an interview that she did with Vogue for their June, 2014 issue, Charlize stated that she was not the type of woman that dreamed about wearing a white dress.
“I think it’s beautiful for them, but to be quite honest, usually I’m sitting there just devastated. It’s supposed to be this night of celebrating love, and all you see is a couple separated all night making sure everybody else is okay. It just looks like a lot of work. And as you get older, you start sifting through the stuff that really matters.”
During the same interview, Theron also openly discussed her longtime friendship with Sean Penn and how they decided to become a little more than just friends.
“Sean and I have known each other for 18 years. We were just really good friends. And it’s been slow going because you are aware that you could screw that up and lose it..But at the end of the day, it was somewhat effortless. It just kind of naturally happened, and before I knew it, I was in something that was making my life better.”
