Timothy Poole: Pedophile Who Won $3 Million Lottery May Not Be Able To Keep All Of His Money, Victims May Be Entitled

Earlier this month, convicted child molester Timothy Poole sparked quite a debate when his luck changed after scratching a winning lottery ticket. For those who missed it, Poole won $3 million and he reportedly opted to take a lump sum payment of $2.2 million after taxes, reports Mad World News. So, most would assume Poole is whistling Dixie now, right? Well, not exactly. Apparently, his victims are refusing to let him live a life of luxury after making them suffer. Now, there’s reportedly a civil suit on the rise.

According to The Daily Mail, two of Poole’s former victims have filed a lawsuit seeking payment for “damages for pain and suffering.” The lawsuit was reportedly filed by two brothers who were ages 5 and 9 at the time of Poole’s 1999 arrest for sexual abuse.

WKMG reports Poole was accused of sleeping in the same bed with the two young boys and performing sexual acts while they slept, however to this day, he maintains his innocence. But, unfortunately he was found guilty of the crimes. He was initially ordered to serve 10 years of sex offender probation and register as a sexual predator. However, in 2003 a judge revoked that sentence and ordered him to serve three years behind bars.

Poole’s sentence is what actually sparked the debate about whether or not he should be forced to pay the victims. While many people feel he’s paid his debt to society by serving time for the crime, others feel the emotional pain he’s inflicted on the boys will last a lifetime. So, although time has passed he should still be forced to pay.

Do you think Timothy Poole should have to share his lottery winnings with the victims? Share your thoughts.
