Seattle Seahawks Fan Gets The Ultimate Christmas Present In The Mail

A Seattle Seahawks fan is having a very Merry Christmas after receiving an unexpected gift in the mail from his favorite team.

According to KIROTV, the fan, unnamed in the report and in the now famous YouTube video, is described as being from Oklahoma.

He was in Seattle and randomly met the girlfriend of running back Robert Turbin. The woman asked if he would allow her to take a picture of the jacket and send it to her boyfriend.

Curious, he asked why, and that’s when she told him who she was. He allowed it and asked if it would be possible to get Turbin to sign something for him.

She said that she could make it happen after the Seahawks-Kansas City Chiefs game he was attending, but unfortunately (or rather fortunately) his phone died and the opportunity was missed.

Fast forward a few months.

On December 21, the man, who goes by the YouTube ID youcancallmealex, posted a video of something special that he’d just received in the mail, marked “Official Moving Company of the Seattle Seahawks.”

Rather than open in private, the Seahawks fan saved the unboxing for his YouTube channel. He’s since acquired more than 41,000 views.

The video you’re about to see would probably be shorter if he hadn’t let his toddler open the box, but I suppose it’s worth it for the end result. Rather than spill the beans, though, I’ll let you look for yourself.

It’s tempting to make fun of this Seattle Seahawks fan for the display of emotion at the end, but that’s probably because it wasn’t my favorite team sending me a signed, authentic football helmet.

I’m sure that if, say, the Pittsburgh Steelers wanted to do the same, I’d be a mask of tears as most NFL fans would be.

For all the drama and the bad publicity that the NFL has earned itself over the 2014-15 season, it’s clear from moments like this one that the organization has the fan support to weather any future storms.

This was undoubtedly a cool thing for a group of players to do, starting with Robert Turbin, and it’s a textbook example of how you can make a fan for life.

What did you think about the video and the gift this Seahawks fan received, readers? Jealous, happy, impressed by the players’ response? Sound off in our comments section.
