Amy Adams canceled an interview with NBC’s Today Show on Monday. The Big Eyes actress reportedly refused to answer questions about emails leaked after the Sony hack attack.
Want it or not, several Hollywood stars have been caught in the middle of the Sony hack attack of last month, which the studio is still trying to bring under control. The breach caused the movie The Interview to be pulled by distributors after receiving threats from North Korean hackers.
But the Sony hack is not just about the problems with the release of The Interview. Several embarrassing emails have surfaced, revealing private conversations and big star salaries.
In the case of Amy Adams, it was discovered that she was paid two percent less than her male co-stars for the award winner, American Hustle, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Christian Bale. Apparently, the Oscar nominated actress didn’t want any part of answering questions regarding the much talked about Sony hack.
According to a report in the New York Daily News via confidenti@l, Amy Adams “freaked out” before a planned interview with Today on Monday morning and refused to talk about the leaked emails. The show’s producers insisted she be “grilled” about the revelations concerning her salary, and the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of the director, David O’Russell.
A source says the interview with the morning show was cancelled at the last minute, after they could not come to an agreement on what questions would be asked. Amy Adams’ — who is doing a press tour to promote her new movie Big Eyes — reportedly got “aggressive” in the green room prior to her appearance and left the studio.
The Inquisitr reported last week, via Radar Online, that emails also revealed a disturbing episode which took place during the filming of American Hustle in 2013. An email from veteran journalist and producer Jonathan Alter to Michael Lynton — the chairman of Sony Pictures — states that O’Russell abused Adams and terrified the cast and crew with his “lunatic behavior.”
Atler used harsh words to describe the chaotic situation during filming.
“(Russell) grabbed one guy by the collar, cursed out people repeatedly in front of others, and so abused Amy Adams that Christian Bale got in his face and told him to stop acting like an a**hole. He treated the crew like s**t, demanded his own bathroom at all times and frightened people.”
At this time, there have been no comments from the Today Show or reps of Amy Adams regarding the abrupt cancellation of her interview.
