'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Star Porsha Williams Reveals The Real Reason She Was Demoted?

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams recently explained the real reason behind Bravo's decision to demote her. Following her season seven downgrade from official housewife to friend of the wives, Williams appeared on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live, where she revealed her failure to expose her dating life was likely the cause of her role change.

"What happened, I think … I was dating someone at the time, and of course, as part of the show when we sign up, it's about showing who you date," Williams explained to Cohen on his late-night show, according to a December 19 report by Reality Tea. "He was playing football, and his coach told him that he didn't want him to film until later in the season. So unfortunately, I had filmed and shown some of my personal life, had told the producers that I would show him, but I couldn't show him until the very, very end and by then it was a little too late."

"They wanted a lot of the dating, and I totally get that because I'm coming from divorce, but I wanted them to film me performing 'Flatline' and my hair-line NAKED."
Although Willliams was expecting to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta as an official housewife, she claimed to Cohen the demotion was a blessing in disguise.

"I found out towards the end but you know what? It actually was a little less stressful," she said. "I love being part of the Bravo family. As you see, it just gives me more time to sit in and read."

For his part, Cohen appeared to agree with Willliams' reason for her demotion. In an interview earlier this year, via the Inquisitr, Cohen said he and the producers simply didn't have enough of a story from Williams to garner her with an official housewife role.

As the Inquisitr reported, Williams released a statement regarding her Real Housewives of Atlanta demotion

"This is not an easy time for me right now, but I want let everyone to know that I loved being a 'Housewife' on the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,' and I am thankful for Bravo for the opportunity but it's not goodbye, you will see me on the show throughout the season sharing and bonding with the other women and I promise to stay connected with my fans as I start an exciting new time in my life," she wrote, via E!
