Chistopher Meloni Lands Major Role on ‘True Blood’

Christopher Meloni will be bringing some law order to True Blood. Rumors about Meloni’s first post-SVU television gig have been floating around for months, but HBO has finally confirmed that Meloni will be joining the cast of True Blood for the fifth season.

And Meloni isn’t just going to be a one-off character. According to Entertainment Weekly, the former Law Order actor will have a major role in the fifth season of True Blood. EW reports that Meloni will play an “ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands.”

CBS reports that this will be a homecoming of sorts for Meloni. Before his 12-year gig on Law Order, Meloni played inmate Chris Keller on the network’s prison drama “Oz.”

When Meloni left SVU, he told E! News:

“I think 12 years is enough, a good number…The writers will have fertile ground to figure out how to arc [Elliot Stabler] out to another place—whether it’s this world or the next.”

Do you think Christopher Meloni will make a good vampire? Are you going to watch the fifth season of True Blood?”
