2011 VGAs: Naughty Dog reveals ‘The Last of Us’ [Video]

Naughty Dog’s focus over the past several years has been entirely on the Uncharted series, but now that Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is finished and in the hands of gamers, it’s time for Naughty Dog to move on to something else.

As revealed tonight during the 2011 Spike VGAs, that “something else” is an all-new IP called “The Last of Us“. The trailer shows a man and his daughter rummaging through corpses of zombified humans for ammo and supplies in what appears to be a post-apocalyptic scenario set in America.

The trailer didn’t exactly give us too much to go by, but I have to say it at least succeeded in getting me interested in Naughty Dog’s next project – plus it’s nice to see that Sony isn’t forcing Naughty Dog to keep pumping out Uncharted games until the series is run into the ground.

The trailer doesn’t say just when Naughty Dog’s ‘The Last of Us‘ is expected to release, so you’ll have to sit tight for more on that. In the meantime, check out The Last of Us‘ 2011 Spike VGAs debut trailer below.
