Reese Witherspoon Gets ‘Wild’ With Running And Clean Eating Diet: ‘Legally Blonde’ Sequel? [Video]

Reese Witherspoon once was viewed as the cute actress in Legally Blonde. Innocent and sweet, she seemed to float through life, succeeding professionally and personally with acting roles, marriage, and children. But when she felt that her career was stagnating, she decided to take a chance. As a result, Reese gets wild in her new film that her production company filmed, which is based on Cheryl Strayed’s memoir about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, she told the Arizona Republic.

In addition to starring in the film Wild, Reese took on the role of producer. The action-packed movie was both physically and mentally challenging, she admitted. But Witherspoon is active in her own life, which helped.

“It was definitely the hardest movie I’ve ever made in my life…. It’s only me. So there was nothing to cut away to. It was just non-stop. We wouldn’t break for lunch. We just kept walking. How poetic, because that’s what the film is about.”

Reese recognizes that the original fans of Legally Blonde have matured. As a result, she hopes they will respond to the darker humor evident in her new role, she stated.

“My audience has evolved. The audience who saw ‘Legally Blonde’ is now older and ready for something that’s a little more challenging, I think.”

Asked if she would ever consider creating a sequel to Legally Blonde, Witherspoon laughs before admitting that she’s dreamed of the possibility and has even come up with some initial plans.

“Never say never. There have been a few ideas kicking around,” Reese confessed.

To stay in Legally Blonde shape, Reese goes wild for running, according to the Daily Mail. If you happen to be visiting Los Angeles and see someone who looks like Reese Witherspoon in jogging attire doing the rounds of an upscale neighborhood, it’s not a look-alike.

At 38, with three children (Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, Tennessee James Toth, and Deacon Reese Phillippe), Reese is determined to maintain her sleek physique. But her children are more concerned with what they see as their mother’s embarrassing habits, she confessed to Ellen DeGeneres.

“We were once in the car and the coffee cup was there. He said, ‘Urgh the lipstick on your cup is so embarrassing,'” laughed Reese about her son Deacon.

In addition to exercise, Witherspoon follows a clean eating diet, according to the Wall Street Cheat Sheet.

“Eat clean and healthy with small meals and snacks daily, reduce alcohol consumption, and do cardio 30 minutes a day for 6 days per week,” explains trainer Michael George about Reese’s food plan and fitness goals.

It’s the same celebrity diet philosophy advised by supermodel Adriana Lima’s nutritionist, as the Inquisitr reported. Dr. Charles Passler emphasizes avoiding processed foods as a key part of a clean eating diet. That approach also adheres to Paleo diet eating guidelines.

“The basic idea of the Paleo Diet is to eat what is natural and available. If it looks like it came from nature it is fine. No processed foods including breads and pasta. Dairy is also eliminated or minimized.”
