Australian Teen Kai Bogert Undergoes Sex Change, Mom Issues A Hilarious Classified Ad In Support

Until a week ago, a 19-year-old teenager from the town of Jimboomba in Queensland, Australia, was known to everyone as Elizabeth Anne. Today, the “she” has transformed into a “he” — a young man named Kai Bogert, reports the Courier Mail. Days ago, Kai Bogert expressed his desire to his parents, informing them that he no longer wishes to live as a girl and that he has always wanted to live as a boy.

While a decision as sensitive as this would have made any other parent go absolutely crazy, the reaction from Bogert’s mother Yolanda and his father has surprised almost everyone. Instead of admonishing her son’s decision, Yolanda went ahead and posted a hilarious classified advertisement in a local newspaper announcing a birth retraction. The advertisement that came on the births section of the Courier Mail informed everyone that their daughter Elizabeth is now their son, Kai.

Here is what the exact text read.

“In 1995 we announced the arrival of our sprogget Elizabeth Anne as a daughter. Oops our bad. We would like to present our wonderful son — Kai Bogert.”

Kai Bogert was born Eliabeth Anne back in 1995, and was also known as Beth. While Anne, the now 19-year-old teenager, had all these years kept his desires a secret, a week ago, he couldn’t hold on to it for any longer and decided to let his family know.

Contrary to his expectations, his mom not only respected his decision, she went ahead and did something truly remarkable. She let the world know that she stands by her child no matter what gender identity he prefers. Later, in an interview with the Courier Mail, Ms. Bogert clarified that the decision to place the add was “a no-brainer.”

Here is what Ms. Bogert has to say about her decision to support her son, Kai.

“I needed to show my son I support him 100 per cent and wanted to let the world know that. It is all very new to us. Kai just told me a few days ago that he no longer wanted to live as a girl. I have always known there was something different about Kai.”

She adds the following.

“There was little signs along the way when he was little and certainly was more evident in later years but it was never really discussed openly.”

While Yolanda looks comfortable, it was Kai who was left speechless with the way she displayed the openness to talk about the subject which to this date remains taboo in several parts of the world, says Mashable.

“I am so happy with what she has done. This last week has changed everything for me.”

He added the following.

“I am still me but I am more me than I was a few days ago and feel free. I have not had any hormones or made any decisions about gender reassignment surgery. Nothing like that yet. These are early days but so far I have never been happier. [sic]”

The hilarious classified post by Kai Bogert’s mother has now gone viral and thousands of people are sharing the image across the globe.
