David Beckham, Son Brooklyn, In Car Accident — Third In Three Years

David Beckham, the 39-year-old retired midfielder who is generally regarded to be the greatest international soccer star in the history or the sport, along with his 16-year-old son Brooklyn, were involved in a two-car accident in England on Saturday, according to TMZ. Both Beckhams were described as shaken up but walked away unharmed, as did the two passengers in the other vehicle.

According to BBC News, police were called to London Colney, Hertfordshire, the training site of the Arsenal pro soccer team, where Beckham’s son Brooklyn reportedly plays for the north London club’s under-16s, after reports of an accident involving a grey Audi RS6 and a silver Mitsubishi Colt.

While the Beckham’s have not commented on the accident, the Belfast Telegraph states conflicting reports that the driver of the Mitsubishi Colt may have suffered minor injuries and may have been taken to the hospital, while other reports claim that Beckham may have suffered a shoulder injury following the deployment of his airbag.

One source insists that both Beckham’s were unharmed.

“David and Brooklyn did not suffer any injuries and as I understand it both passengers in the other vehicle were unharmed. David and Brooklyn were shaken by the accident but thankfully OK.”

Brooklyn Beckham’s teammate, Archie Davies, took to Twitter and reportedly witnessed the accident, and confirmed the elder Beckham’s injury.

“Just seen David Beckham looks like he got in a car crash and hurt his shoulder. Star struck by seeing David Beckham tbh.”

The Beckhams have had several automobile accidents in recent years. In 2011, David Beckham rear-ended a gold Mitsubishi that had broken down in the car pool lane on the 405 freeway near Los Angeles. The multi-car pile-up, in which Brooklyn was also in the passenger seat, sent the driver to the hospital. Just last year, the Sunday Express reported news of another accident where Beckham, again with Brooklyn in the passenger seat, crashed his Range Rover into an Acura 4X4 driven by a woman who luckily suffered no injuries.

Brooklyn Beckham is the oldest of four children, along with sons Romeo, 12, and Cruz, 9, as well as 3-year-old daughter Harper, of David Beckham and his wife, Victoria Beckham, the current model and fashion designer formerly known as Posh Spice of the pop mega group the Spice Girls. David Beckham, who saw the majority of his success with the Manchester United, Real Madrid, Milan, and LA Galaxy soccer clubs, was announced as a part owner of a MLS expansion team in Miami set to debut in 2016 or 2017.
