‘Game Of Thrones’ Unveils New Season 5 Website, Offers To Give Visitors ‘The Sight’ [Video]

HBO has added to the anticipation and hype surrounding the upcoming Season 5 of Game of Thrones by opening a new website called ThreeEyedRaven.com. The website comes on the heels of a Season 5 teaser that gives no real hints about the upcoming Game of Thrones season. The Inquisitr previously reported that the new teaser is 10 seconds long, and features only Arya Stark. The Game of Thrones website is just as mysterious as is the teaser.

Currently, the new Game of Thrones site features only a cover page with an image of a three-eyed raven, and an arrow that, when clicked, takes the viewer to another page that asks the question “How do you wish to receive The Sight?” Options are text message and Twitter. When you make one of the selections, the site asks for your Twitter handle, or mobile number. If you select Twitter, it tells you that by signing up, you agree to receive messages from “@GameOfThrones.” When you select text messages, you are told that your number will only be used to give you “The Sight.”

What exactly does all of this mean? That’s what everyone is trying to figure out. The Hollywood Reporter believes that the new Game of Thrones site, the 10-second teaser that contained mostly old material, and the mysterious messages about “The Sight” are leading up to a full Season 5 trailer. HBO has neither confirmed nor denied that speculation, but they say that anyone who signs up for tweets or texts will be able to figure out what’s going on.

The British site Unreality TV speculates on what viewers might expect in Game of Thrones Season 5, and why HBO chose the three-eyed raven as the theme for the new site. They observe that the bird has been featured off and on throughout the first four seasons. Game of Thrones viewers know that Bran has an interest in finding the bird.

Unreality TVobserves, “With reports still back and forth about just how much Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) will feature in the next series, whilst reports of visions and the return of dead characters, we can’t help but wonder now if perhaps these visions will befall another character. Arya, perhaps? She is the one seen brandishing her sword after all.”

Season 5 of Game of Thrones will feature a number of new characters, according to Christian Today. Viewers will meet Doran Martell, his son Trystane Martell, and Myrcella Baratheon, Jamie and Cercei’s daughter. There will be other new characters as well, including the leader of the “militant faithful,” High Sparrow, who will be played by veteran actor Jonathan Pryce.

Season 5 of Game of Thrones will debut on HBO sometime this spring.
