‘Game Of Thrones’ Vs ‘Hunger Games’: Natalie Dormer Picks Her Favorite Franchise

Natalie Dormer has been blessed with starring in not one, but two of the hottest franchises in the world today. So between Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games, which franchise does Natalie prefer?

Dormer revealed her choice during a recent Reddit session when asked that very question. The answer? Both!

“That sounds like a get-out answer, but it’s true!” Dormer replied to her fans.

She also elaborated on how much of her own personality is in each character, Margaery on Game of Thrones and Cressida in Hunger Games.

“They’re all different sides of my personality. I’m not as brave as half of them, probably. And I’m definitely not as manipulative as Margaery. I probably have the same work ethos that Cressida does.”

It seems like Natalie is taking to her new role as Cressida in the Hunger Games when a fan asked how similar the experience was to playing Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones.

“I loved how physical the role was for playing Cressida, and that she’s all about her job,” she shared.

Dormer continued, “It was fun to play someone who works the other side of the camera. Like Cressida’s out there in the field, whereas everything Margaery does is sitting around behind closed doors. They’re both very PR-savvy, that’s what they have in common, they both know how to manipulate hearts & minds. So there’s a trend, a theme there between the two of them.”

She also spoke about the difference in her preparation between the two universes.

“For ‘Game of Thrones,’ I haven’t read the books, because she’s not a POV character, so I was advised by [producers] Dan & David that it might not help me. And I just love watching the show as a fan, and not knowing what’s going to happen. In contrast, I did read all the ‘Hunger Games’ books, and thought they were amazing.”

Sounds like Natalie may actually be leaning toward the Jennifer Lawrence hit movie over Game of Thrones, even though she won’t admit it. It might have to do with a scene she refused to shoot involving 13-year-old boy-king Tommen during Game of Thrones Season 4, as reported by Inquisitr. Either way, the actress is hard at work on Season 5.

[Warning: Spoilers Ahead]

Did Dormer reveal any tidbits as to what fans can expect? Not really. Though she did mention there’s a “whole new bad government” that’s going to come in on Season 5 of Game of Thrones that’s “going to need overthrowing, in King’s Landing.”

Maybe Natalie can transform into Cressida and help. After all, that would certainly be a Game of Thrones spoiler no one would ever see coming.
