Nikki Reed Debuts New Music Sample Of ‘Fly With You’

Actress and musician Nikki Reed posted a portion of her new single “Fly With You” quietly on Instagram this week. Reed produced the single with American Idol Season 10 contestant Stefano Langone, as well as his producing partner Dmadd.

MJs Big Blog reports that Langone and Dmadd’s new production company, SpeakerMind, attracted Nikki as their first artist. Nikki met Langone through her ex-husband Paul McDonald, another American Idol alum. Nikki’s split with McDonald originally did not include ending their musical collaboration, but his name has not been mentioned in relation with the sample release.

“Fly With You” will be released in full on November 20. Reed is donating a portion of the proceeds from sales to Save the Wildlife Waystation, a non-profit animal sanctuary in Los Angeles.

“The most important part is that a percentage of the sales will be given to help #SavetheWildlifeWaystation in anticipation of our upcoming fundraiser so please please help spread the word! More preview clips coming soon.”

According to Socialite Life, Nikki’s demo is not surprising or different from standard pop music fare, but Ian Somerhalder’s gushing over the song goes beyond typical admiration. Ian shared the track on Instagram after Nikki. Somerhalder added a few of his own thoughts about Nikki’s creativity and charity.

“Wow! I can’t wait for you guys to hear this song in its entirety! I love how diverse you are as a human being and and artist… @iamnikkireed you have truly created something beautiful, original and unabashedly provocative.”

Ian loves Nikki’s activism so much that he might just be her biggest fan.

“I’ve listened to it 50 times this week after it was mastered and it’s so tight, it’s sexy and fun. Mixing genres in music is so special and @iamnikkireed you’ve done it. I really think you’ll dig this track everyone and it’s got a really great charitable component-these animals are amazing. Wow. Thank you for being a bad-a** woman as an artist and activist Nikki.”

Nikki separated from her ex-husband, Paul, this summer. As reported by the Inquisitr, the couple split in in March and formally filed for divorce in May. Reed and McDonald were married for just over two years. Shortly after Nikki filed for divorce, she and Somerhalder began seeing each other. Their relationship has been in and out of the news, especially involving Ian’s ex Nina Dobrev.
