An image of what appears to be Jesus Christ, or a bearded man, appeared on a piece of homemade chicken to a family in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
According to WNEP , Ernesto Hernandez was about to take a bite of his wife’s home cooking when he took a second look at the chicken on his plate. Seemingly looking back at him was a man’s face in the breading, not unlike an image of Jesus Christ.
“I always kid to my wife she’s such a divine cook and I’m about to fork into my chicken and lo and behold, I mean, there’s a picture of what looks to be like Jesus to me. It really kind of took me a back a minute.”
The piece of chicken possibly featuring a Jesus Christ image was pretty small, but it made Hernandez think twice about eating it. He was compelled to save the piece of chicken, even though he does not align himself with any particular religion.
“I’m not a religious man, but I’m very spiritual. I believe in oneness. I believe we’re all from the same source,” Ernesto said.
Hernandez admits he often looks for signs here and there, and last summer he thought he saw an image of Jesus in the clouds.
This piece of chicken featuring the Christ-like image has made Ernesto and his wife think twice about their blessings, and they are grateful for the life they share.
“I certainly feel blessed. I’m blessed for the family I have and the life that I have and I’m very grateful for that,” Hernandez admitted.
Hernandez put the piece of chicken in the refrigerator to try and keep the image of Christ for as long as possible, but he said the image shrunk a bit. He claims the image is still quite clear of Jesus, or a bearded man at least, on the meat.
Ernesto wants people to be aware of their spiritual surroundings and wants to share a message with other people.
“If I could convey a message to people I guess it would be pay attention, there are signs everywhere.”
Hernandez and his wife have taken pictures of the Jesus image on the small piece of food and shared it with friends and family. While it is fun for them to engage in some conversation about it, they feel a bit inspired by the possibility that the image of Jesus Christ could be a type of divine sign.
