New Cristiano Ronaldo Being Hunted By Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich

A host of top soccer sides are currently in the hunt for Goncalo Guedes, who has been labelled as the new Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 17-year-old Portuguese forward currently plays for Benfica, and he has been making huge strides as part of Benfica B. He has so far played 13 times in the Segunda Liga, while he has also made a handful of appearances for Benfica’s main side.

But it has been his performances for Portugal U16, Portugal U17, Portugal U18, that have really gained the attention of a host of clubs. His prowess has even seen him awarded with the 2012-13 Portuguese U19 League and he was the runner-up in the 2013-14 for the UEFA Youth League.

And now the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Pairs Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Manchester United are allegedly preparing bids for the player. The Daily Mail reported that Arsene Wenger is preparing a $60 million bid for the teenager, which his side will make in the summer.

Wenger is believed to have been influenced in his decision to go ahead with his offer after he decided not to pay for Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2003. This allowed Manchester United to sneak in and purchase the forward from Sporting Lisbon, and he went on to turn into one of the best players in the world.

However, soccer experts are very skeptical that Wenger would actually make such a huge bid for a player who isn’t proven at the highest level. The Frenchman is famously frugal with his money, and in recent years, he has waited to buy players that have already established themselves.

Yahoo! News also insisted that the German and French champions Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are assessing the situation, while Real Madrid are thought to be interested. Soccer Lens noted that Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the player’s progress.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored yet another goal for Real Madrid over the weekend, as the European champions ran out easy winners against Rayo Vallecano. They eventually won by 5 goals to 1, with Toni Kroos scoring his first goal for the club, while Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale also struck in the rout.

Meanwhile, the Welsh winger has admitted that he wants to emulate Cristiano Ronaldo by becoming the best player in the world. He told the BBC News,“I’m improving all the time and trying to get to the level Cristiano’s at.”
