Zombie Apocalypse In Chicago? Coast Guard Rescue ‘Real’ Zombie Walking Dead In The Water [Photos]

A zombie apocalypse in Chicago may be something straight out of Halloween — but then the coast guard pulled a “real” zombie out of Lake Michigan.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, a zombie apocalypse survival cabin has a 10 year anti-zombie guarantee — but only in the event of real zombies. One extreme haunted house featuring a zombie shooting ride ended in the death of a male teenager when he was run over by a bus.

Chicago’s coast guard became the ghost guard over the weekend after bad weather caused Navy Pier’s Halloween barge to sink during the Halloween weekend. The reason these naval zombie hunters had to rescue any zombies walking dead in the water was due to this incident — not because any of the undead were lurking about, but due to the large number of mannequins that were dumped into Lake Michigan.

Chief Petty Officer Alan Haraf says that a boat crew from Station Wilmette Harbor came across one of the zombies poking its head out of the water. They decided to “rescue” the zombie since it was becoming a water hazard for boats navigating the area and because they wanted to return the zombie to its owner.

The story took a strange turn at this point. No, a zombie apocalypse did not start. Instead, the boat crew decided to do their full “man overboard” routine as a part of a training drill. According to WGNTV, they fished the 120 pound zombie out of the water and even administered CPR to the lost member of the walking dead.

While a zombie apocalypse was not spotted, let’s just hope the poor coast guard crew member who had to do CPR suddenly does not develop a hankering for brains.
